The BC Community Climate Action Dashboard is a customizable database that tracks climate action progress for all BC local governments.
We launched the Dashboard in 2024 with the needs of local government staff and elected officials in mind. Our goal is to help local governments develop best practices, foster peer learning and leverage climate action by sharing what communities are doing. The Dashboard contains real-world data on the actions local governments in BC are taking, including:
- Community-by-community Energy Step Code & Zero Carbon Step Code information
- Other local government climate regulations, such as EV-ready building bylaws
- Climate Action Plans
- LGCAP reports
- And more!
Currently, all 161 BC local governments and 28 regional districts are included in the Dashboard. In upholding the principles of Truth and Reconciliation, we will include Indigenous communities in the Dashboard only with free, prior and informed consent. Our intention is to meet with each Indigenous community and discuss how information will be shared. Please stay tuned for updates.
Note that all information on the Dashboard comes from publicly available sources or data sharing agreements. If you are using information found on the Dashboard for a report, please cite the original data source (such as the local government’s website) rather than the Dashboard.
